Blake grew up in the world of radio. Both of his parents had worked in the industry for a time which really sparked his initial interest. By the time he was 17 years old, he had landed an on-air gig at a small music station in his hometown of Hobbs, NM.
This native New Mexican eventually went on to play college baseball and attend the University of New Mexico where he studied history and journalism. Go Lobos!
After spending several years working in sports radio in Albuquerque, NM (KNML and KKOB), Blake broke into News & Talk when he took over as program director and news director at KBTK. But this would not last very long as California called his name in 2002.
After spending 5 great years as the program director and news anchor at KERN in Bakersfield, Blake joined KMJ in the Fall of 2007. You can hear Blake team with Ray Appleton weekday mornings from 6-9AM.
Blake is also a new dad as he and his lovely wife Maricela recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. He enjoys cooking, softball, hoops, and being a dad.

Chris Daniel
Email Chris Now
Chris was born to two parents in Minneapolis. Having never met, they were surprised. He spent the following years growing older.
Raised in New York City, he appreciated the opportunities offered there, but had the nature and sense to leave. Since, he has lived in Wyoming, Arizona and Hawai'i, as well as California. He's been in all 50 states, most of Canada, some of the Caribbean and Old Mexico. A real Western Hemisphere guy. You'll find some diverse comments and tips on some of these places on his website travelogue "Roadapple Pie", debuting soon on kmj580.com.
Daniel is a second-generation broadcaster. His father, Dan, a radio veteran of 51 years, broadcast in America's #1 market, New York, from 1961 to 2005. Dan is a recipient of AFTRA's "Broadcaster of the Year" award, was one of the original WMCA "Good Guys" and was the lone broadcaster left on the air in New York during the Great 1965 Blackout. He single-handedly advised, directed and helped millions towards assistance and shelter while the rest of radio and TV was silent. For this he garnered moderate accolades, was mentioned in the song, "Where Were You When the Lights Went Out" and maybe inspired a little boy to follow in his footsteps.
Chris arrived in the Valley in 1989 to help found KRZR. He was the host of the "Front Row" morning show from 1990-2004. Since, he has been in talk radio in Fresno and San Francisco with whistle stops in San Diego and L.A. He lives in Sanger.
There is no "s" at the end of Mr. Daniel's last name. Chris offers the first person to truly remember that 1/2 of future earnings from the strawberry sales of his secret Laotian family. They will be arriving soon after the lifting of "heightened American security" (except for Mexico), will work very hard because they are "so, so happy to be
hee-yah" and will surely become model citizens as they gather in the leaky lean-to that Chris so generously constructed out of fan mail.
Chris lives with Ace, his long-time gal and playoff caliber Norwegian hellcat. She was a 1st team All-American and MVP for the 1983 volleyball state champion Avenal Buccaneers. Ace received even more awards in high school than Chris received absent slips. They are crazy about Lau Lau, their German Shepherd/Husky. She is a natural base-stealer and the family's only vegetarian.
Daniel is an avid "foodie", making messes in the kitchen and collecting strange food gadgets. He can cook a pig in the ground or make a sublime pork cassoulet. His specialties, though, are Italian and Asian cuisine.
Chris received his pilot's license in 1997, much to the chagrin of many Central Valley towns, especially Kerman (see FAA regs. Sec. 91-15, "Dropping Objects").
Daniel is a staunch SF Giants, NY Jets and Arizona Wildcats basketball fan, is freakishly double-jointed, has survived an unscheduled dam opening while tubing in Wisconsin, scored two points at Madison Square Garden (then taken to security office), reeled in a 200-lb marlin and threw up on it's face and once swept out the Yellowstone East Entrance Visitor Station to earn the $2 he didn't have to get in. He may be the only person to read everything James Michener ever wrote. He loves his Sweet Baby Acura with 257k miles. A great speller, he has always had a hard time spelling alcohol, liquor and broadcasting, this to the shock and mirth of those that have known him a while. Chris prefers to be in Kaua'i and would rather eat with chopsticks than anything else.
Besides his dad, Daniel's heroes are Marco Polo, Ben Franklin, John Quincy Adams, Glenn Beck, Silvio Dante and Wayne Chrebet.
He signs off his show with "trudge the road of happy destiny" for a very special reason.
Chris is buried next to Wyatt Earp in Colma, CA.

Mark's book Men in Black was released February 7, 2005 and quickly climbed to Number 3 in the nation on the New York Times Best-Seller list. His passion and intellect have made him a favorite of tens of thousands of radio listeners in the New York City area.
Mark has been a frequent guest and substitute host on The Sean Hannity Show, and has also been an advisor to Limbaugh, who frequently refers to him on the air with the nickname "F. Lee Levin." He is perhaps more well-known for his nickname, "The Great One," coined by his friend Hannity.
Mark Levin is one of America's preeminent conservative commentators and constitutional lawyers. He's in great demand as a political and legal commentator, and has appeared on hundreds of television and radio programs. Dennis went into broadcasting because of KMJ. Growing up in Fresno, he listened to KMJ every Saturday and Sunday for more than a decade -- to hear NBC Radio's weekend-long "Monitor" magazine program.
"Monitor" sounded so exciting -- it convinced Dennis to make broadcasting his career. His first job after graduating from Fresno State was as a radio news director in Susanville.
After that, he spent the next quarter-century working in TV news in Fresno, Phoenix, Atlanta, Detroit, San Francisco and Los Angeles (with time out for a couple of years to teach journalism at Iowa State University). He covered everything from presidential campaigns to major earthquakes to the world's wrist-wrestling champion (who defeated him, hands-down). During this wild ride, he picked up an Emmy and numerous other awards.
Finally, he's returned "home" to the Valley -- and to a job he loves -- reporting news on KMJ.
